BIO
Tzvi Erez is an internationally recognized Canadian classical pianist, recording artist, and producer. Born in Israel, he began studying piano at the age of six before continuing his musical education in Canada at The Royal Conservatory of Music (University of Toronto), where he studied with Mildred Kenton, Andrew Burashko, and Antonin Kubalek.
While completing his classical training, Erez also established a successful career as a music producer, collaborating with numerous artists and record labels across multiple genres. Following many years of production and distribution through Sony Music, he devoted his career primarily to classical performance and recording, founding the independent label Niv Classical.
Over the past two decades, Erez has built one of the most extensive independent catalogues in classical piano, releasing more than fifty albums featuring the music of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Grieg, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Erik Satie, and many other composers. His recordings include complete and major collections of works by Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin, as well as numerous piano concertos recorded with orchestra. His performances are noted for their musical insight, technical refinement, and exceptional recorded sound.
Beyond the concert stage, Erez's recordings have reached a worldwide audience through streaming platforms and YouTube, where millions of listeners have discovered his interpretations of the classical repertoire.
In 2024, his recordings of Chopin's piano works were featured throughout the Searchlight Pictures film A Real Pain, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin. The film received widespread international acclaim and earned the 2025 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (Kieran Culkin).
In addition to his solo career, Erez has collaborated with orchestral musicians, including members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and continues to record new repertoire, produce immersive audio releases, teach piano performance, conduct classical music research, and oversee music production and worldwide licensing for film and television.
